Get to know our owners

Somersaults Gymnastics Center was opened by Scott and Robin Joens in 1996. For 20 years, they've dedicated their lives to teaching children the importance of physical health. Scott and Robin have a heart for children, which is why they've made gymnastics the family business. All six of their children have participated in competitive gymnastics!

Prior to opening Somersaults Gymnastics Center, Scott spent ten years as a PE teacher and coach at College Community Schools before joining the business. Robin grew up in the gym and competed in gymnastics throughout high school and college. Her coaching experience began at age 14, when the love of the sport took over and she made it a career.

Scott and Robin have been blessed with a special needs child, who is a model for the benefits of gymnastics. She has been able to excel in her age group thanks to the lessons that gymnastics taught her: motor skills, coordination, balance and strength. That's why we welcome kids of all abilities. We feel that no child should have limitations placed on them just because they were born with special needs.
